The United Arab Emirates (UAE) has expanded its visa-on-arrival programme for Indian nationals, extending eligibility to those holding valid visas, residence permits, or Green Cards from six additional countries. This move allows more Indian passport holders to avail of the visa-on-arrival facility at UAE entry points, further simplifying travel for frequent visitors and expatriates.
Under the revised guidelines, Indian travellers with valid visas, residence permits, or Green Cards from Singapore, Japan, South Korea, Australia, New Zealand, and Canada are now eligible for this facility.
Previously, Indian nationals could only avail of the visa-on-arrival option if they held a valid visa or residence permit from the US, UK, or EU. With the inclusion of six more countries, the UAE has significantly enhanced accessibility for Indian travellers.
To qualify for the visa-on-arrival programme, Indian nationals must:
- Hold an ordinary passport with at least six months’ validity from the date of arrival.
- Possess a valid visa, residence permit, or Green Card from one of the newly eligible countries.
- Pay the applicable visa fee upon arrival at UAE immigration checkpoints.
The UAE has introduced three visa categories for eligible Indian travellers:
- 4-day visa – Dh100
- 14-day extension – Dh250
- 60-day visa – Dh250
