Armenia announces temporary visa exemption for eligible residents of India

Indian nationals who hold a valid residence permit issued by the United States of America, European Union Member States, Schengen Area States, the United Arab Emirates, the Kingdom of Bahrain, the State of Qatar, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, the State of Kuwait, or the Sultanate of Oman, and whose residence permit is valid for at least six months from the date of entry into the Republic of Armenia, are exempt from the visa requirement starting from January 1 to July 1, 2026. They can stay in the territory of the Republic of Armenia without a visa for up to 180 days within a one-year period.

Additional requirements:

  • The residence permit must be presented either as a physical card or as a sticker placed on the passport.
  • The border authorities may recognize the residence permit if it contains, in Latin script, the title of the document, the foreign national’s given name, surname, and nationality, as well as the date of birth and document validity period, indicated according to the Gregorian calendar (e.g., 18.06.2027 or 18 JUN 2027).
